Newest Creation - from 1000 Year Old Wood

Irish Bog Oak is the result of trees and forests that have become buried in the boglands of Ireland for centuries. The lack of oxygen in the bogs prevents the decay of these woods and preserved these trees for thousands of years. Carbon dating has shown some samples to be up to 7,000 years old. An anaerobic reaction within the bog turns the usually light wood of oak to a deep black. The longer the time spent in the bog, the darker the wood has become.

This pen is a deep black colour throughout. There is just something about a black pen that shouts Class!

This pen is from my Niagara line, and while similar in appearance to the Baron, it is in fact larger, and has all metal hardware. The larger size really shows off the Irish Bog Oak on this pen, while maintaining a nice balance in the hand while writing. This Niagara Pen features Titanium Gold hardware for a lifetime of brilliance, and a German made Rollerball insert for smooth writing performance.

The Niagara line comes packaged in a hinged Leatherette display and presentation box.

This pen is FOR SALE -- $150.00 Contact me using the ABOUT ME on the right hand side of this page if you are interested.

Canadian Pen

This is not just another Baron 2 Piece Pen! This pen features a red-orange-white swirling custom made resin body from Master Scroll Saw worker Jeff Powell. This magnificent Maple Leaf blank has been hand cut by Jeff Powell, and cast in his own blend of special resins.

The chrome Baron sets this special body off perfectly giving a wonderful 2 piece design and flawless writing from the German rollerball ink insert. When the pen is in use, the cap is screwed onto the bottom of the pen to keep a wonderfully balanced writing instrument, and gives you the chance to continue to show off your Canadian Pride!

This pen is SOLD, and the hand scroll sawed bodies made by Jeff Powell were a limited edition, but I can take an order for one more at $100. Contact me using the ABOUT ME on the right hand side of this page if you would like one made especially for you!

An Arrow Pen

I was on the lookout for new pen ideas, something that you just don't see everyday. While shopping in my local outdoor shop, I noticed that the arrows in the display case seemed to be just about the right size for some experimentation.

This pen was the result ... completely fun, but functional, and actually a nice balance in the hand!

The feathers actually fall between your finger and thumb to create a very comfortable grip, while maintaining a very unique pen.

This pen is the shaft and flights from an Easton XX75 21117 arrow.

This pen is FOR SALE -- $30.00 Contact me using the ABOUT ME on the right hand side of this page.

Bloodwood Commissioned Artist Pencil

This one is something a bit different! I was approached by a customer that was looking for an artist's sketch pencil. Something with a larger lead, perhaps a little larger to grip but it absolutely had to be made from Bloodwood! This creation certainly fit the bill, and I don't believe that the customer has put the pencil down yet!

This pencil features chrome hardware and is dressed in Bloodwood. I finished it with 7 coats of my secret, home-mixed finishing solution to make sure that it can stand up to years of use. The red tones of the Bloodwood absolutely sparkle and shine in the light.

The cap of the artist pencil even includes perfectly aligned blades for sharpening the lead to just the right angle of point.

While this one was commissioned and has gone to it's new owner, if you were looking for something similar, drop me a line using the ABOUT ME on the right hand side of this page, and I can make one for your too.

Chrome Baron with Rib Fruited Mallee

Another of those classy Baron pens. This time it is a Chrome Baron that features the facetted barrel and a removable cap that is postable on the opposite end of the pen to enhance balance when writing and ensure the cap does not get lost.

The wood is an import from Western Australia where it is known for it's outstanding figure and grain. It is a Rib Fruited Mallee and the swirls on this particular piece show off the various brown hues throughout the pen.

This pen is SOLD.

Buckeye Burl Baron

If you are looking for a two piece pen that simply shouts CLASSY, then the Baron is the way to go. This pen has a removable cap that is postable on the bottom to provide enhanced balance when writing, and to ensure the cap isn't lost. The barrel of the pen is facetted, to allow a comfortable grip, that doesn't turn in your hand. The cartridge is a standard rollerball ink cartridge available from any office supply store.

The wood is a rare Buckeye Burl, that shows wonderful shades of blue and grey. Buckeye is found throughout North America, and the burl is a deformed growth in the tree often caused by damage or disease. Buckeye Burl has a terrific swirling grain that compliments it's multicoloured layers.

Antler Hunting Pens

Another pen for the hunting enthusiast. This pen features an authentic once-fired .308 rifle casing and a bullet that has been drilled out for the nib. Not only that, but the top of this pen is a piece of antler from a White Tail Deer. On the left side of the pen you can notice that some of the outer stag from the antler is still visible which adds greatly to the character of the pen as a whole. To finish the pen off, a 24k gold plated deer head pen clip accents the antler and bullet and brings the entire piece together. This pen uses standard Cross refills, so it can be re-used and not cause unnecessary strain on our landfill sites.

Red Oak with Bark Inclusions - Fountain Pen

This pen is truly beautiful, and immediately catches your eye. The wood is Red Oak, and it has bark inclusions that really makes for a unique one-of-a-kind look for a pen. I used a different style of finish to accent the grain and it's high gloss makes this pen "pop."

The Sedona syle is bold and delicate at the same time making it a natural fit for a man or woman. Handwriting is making a comeback in this digital era and this pen is the natural fit. It is a fountain pen, and has an ink pump installed so that ink can be drawn from a bottle.

Sorry, but this pen is already on it's way to a new home. Contact me via the ABOUT ME on the right hand side of this page if you would like me to make a similar one for you.

30 Caliber Pens

To start off the new year, I decided to try my hand at something new and a bit more unique. Here are the results:

Two .30 caliber bullet pens. These pens are made from actual .30 caliber shells and feature real bullets drilled out for the tip. In both cases I decided to turn an acrylic camoflauge top and apply a rifle clip. The gold clip beautifully accents the colour of the polished and powder coated brass casings.

The pen on the right is an actual 30.06 casing, and the one on the left is an actual .308 casing. Both have been once fired and may show some signs of dings and scratches that occured during their use.

Both pens are FOR SALE -- $50.00 each -- contact me via the ABOUT ME at the right hand side of this page.
